Simeon Wright is the cousin of Emmitt Till, a 14-year-old African American boy murdered in Mississippi in 1955 after allegedly flirting with a white woman. Wright was with TIll the day his cousin spoke to the woman, Carolyn Bryant. Till was then kidnapped from Wright's home and killed. The two men accused of Till's murder were acquitted.
